Reverse: – M SALVIVS OTHO III VIR A A A F F around large S.C.

M. Salvivs Otho was one of Augustus’ moneyers and the maternal uncle of Emperor Otho.

This museum quality coin reproduction of Ancient Roman Coinage is an exact copy of the coin held in the British Museum, BMC 224.

This rare obverse type of Victory setting the laurel wreath on Augustus’ head occurs only on a few of the middle bronzes of the three moneyers assigned to 7 BC.
