One of the most famous coins of all time is the EID MAR denarius issued by Marcus Junius Brutus in 43/42 BC

Obverse:  BRVT IMP L PLAET CEST, head of Brutus right

Reverse:  EID MAR, liberty cap, and two daggers. Cr508/3, Junia 52, Syd 1301.

One of the assassins of Julius Caesar who assumed the title of imperator 43 B.C.
Brutus commemorates his assassination of Julius Caesar on the notorious Ides of March, 44 BC, with his portrait and the famous reverse of two daggers on this coin he had struck.
Joining forces with Cassius they were defeated by Augustus and Marc Antony in 42 B.C.
