Description
In July 1792, the first U.S. Mint coins were struck for distribution at the request of President George Washington at a private facility, the newly established US Mint’s buildings, and machinery were not yet ready. The disme was struck under the guidance of newly hired Mint personnel at this private facility.

Reverse: “UNITED STATES OF AMERICA.”DISME” below the eagle.

Packaged in a coin collecting flip with the description of coin printed on flip insert.
