After Alexander’s death in 323 BC his emprire was divided between his generals.
One of these generals was named Seleucus , he gained control of the eastern portoin of Alexander’s empire, from Syria to Afghanistan.
Demetrius II Nicator was king of Syria from 145 to139 and from 129 to 125 BC
