1787 New Jersey Copper Replica Coin
Outlined Shield Variety
In 1786 Thomas Goadsby, Albion Cox, and Walter Mould were granted authority by the New Jersey colonial legislature to strike coins for the state.
The original copy coin that this was copied from had a die crack across the shield.
Obverse: Horse’s head with plow and the legend NOVA CAESAREA (New Jersey), 1787
Reverse: United States shield and legend E PLURIBUS UNUM (One Composed of Many)
