Sabina Tranquillina
Sabina Tranquillina was the wife of Roman Emperor Gordian III, who reigned from 238 to 244 AD. She was born in a noble Roman family and was the daughter of the respected jurist, Gaius Furius Sabinius Aquila Timesitheus. Sabina Tranquillina married Gordian III in 241 AD when he was just 16 years old, and she became empress shortly after their marriage. Her father, Timesitheus, played a crucial role in her husband’s administration as Praetorian Prefect, guiding the young emperor in matters of state.
