The first company answering the plea for coinage in California is generally believed to have been Norris, Gregg, & Norris.

Reverse: 1849, N. G. & N, San Francisco in the circle of 22 stars – Legend: FULL WEIGHT OF, HALF EAGLE
Diameter: 23 mm
24k gold layered lead-free fine pewter.
This coin is stamped with the word copy.
Packaged in a coin collecting flip with the description of coin printed on flip insert.
