Beautiful coin. And a splendid illustration of Seleucid royal propaganda. Because of rumors that he was actually not of royal, but of quite humble origin, Alexander calls himself “Theopatoros” “Divinely fathered”, and “Euergetes” “”the Benefactor”. Surely, with such credentials, no other mortal but him was better suited to be king. He was the first husband of the famous Cleopatra Thea.
