Athens Tetradrachm 5th century B.C.

Athens in central Greece was a great cultural and political center throughout the 5th century B.C. Athena on the obverse of their coins was the divinity of Attica. Athena was the goddess of war and the protector of cities. The owl was her character of goddess of the night, and the olive, regarded as her gift to Attica.

This museum quality coin reproduction of Ancient Roman Coinage is an exact copy of the coin held in the British Museum .

Reverse: – Owl facing right with olive twig and two leaves

Diameter: 22 mm

Silver plated, lead free pewter, with finished patina, made in the USA.
