Description

Marcus Aurelius Antoninus, better known as Caracalla,  born in 188 A.D., was the son of Septimius Severus and Julia Domna, and brother of Geta.
He was named Caesar in 196 and Augustus in 198.

Obverse: ANTONINVS PIVS AVG BRIT, laureate, draped and cuirassed bust right

Reverse: P M TR P XVI. IMP II above, COS IIII P P SC The Circus Maximus: In the foreground, an arcade of thirteen arches with larch arch at each end, down the center of the circus extends the spina, in the middle stands a tall obelisk.

This museum quality reproduction was made from impressions of the original coin by Peter Rosa.

Diameter: 30 mm

Copper plated, lead-free pewter, hand finished patina, made in the USA.
Packaged in a coin collecting flip with the description of coin printed on flip insert.
