Clark, Gruber & Co. was a well-known private mining firm in Denver, Colorado.  They were the predecessors of the Denver Mint during the Pikes Peak Gold Rush.

Obverse:   Head of Liberty facing left surrounded by 13 stars, date below, PIKES PEAK in the headband.

Reverse:  Eagle, FIVE D., CLARK GRUBER & CO, DENVER.
