Agrigentum, Sicily Ancient Greek Silver Medallion

It is assumed that this remarkable coin was issued for the victory of Exainetos of Akragas in the Olympic games of 412 B.C.

Obverse: Two Eagles standing on dead hare, locust in field at right
Reverse: Helios in chariot drawn by four galloping horses with eagle flying above

Weight:  0.85 troy ounces, 26.5 grams

Diameter: 35 mm
Thickness:  3.8 mm

Stamped .925 on reverse, Edge Stamped BECKER
