Agrigentum, Sicily Ancient Greek Silver Medallion

It is assumed that this remarkable coin was issued for the victory of Exainetos of Akragas in the Olympic games of 412 B.C.

Only ten copies are known to exist; one sold for $2.9 million dollars in a 2017 auction.

Obverse: Two Eagles standing on the dead hare, locust in the field at right
Reverse: Helios in a chariot drawn by four galloping horses with an eagle flying above

Weight:  0.8 troy ounces, 24.5 grams

Diameter: 35 mm
Thickness:  3.8 mm

Stamped .925 on reverse, Edge Stamped BECKER
