Beautiful coin. This king, whose father Demetrius II was killed with the help of his mother, Cleopatra Thea, was a true heir of his family – while his mother served him a cup of poisoned wine, he got wind of a danger and made her drink it herself – and became a full orphan as a result. There is also a coin of mother and son pictured together available in this shop.
